Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are currently wanted to help a company of strolling actors attempt to tell a beloved fable in classical fashion.
Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre’s upcoming production of “The Tortoise Versus The Hare” will be held on Monday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. at Young Auditorium, 900 W. Main St., Whitewater (on the UW-Whitewater campus).
About 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the two MCT tour actors/ directors.
Registration for the auditions is from 3-3:45 pm. Registration forms are available online at http://www.uww.edu/youngauditorium/common/docs/audition-registration.pdf.
Students wishing to audition must arrive by 4 p.m. and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first two-hour rehearsal begins about 15-30 minutes after the audition.
This is a group audition with no advanced preparation is necessary.
Rehearsals will be conducted on Monday following the audition and casting session from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday from 4-6 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Young Auditorium.
Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week, and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition.
Cast members scheduled for the full four and a half hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a snack to eat during the break between rehearsal sessions.
The performance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. and will be presented at Young Auditorium.
