Most successful movie musical of all time coming to Whitewater
Nearly everyone has seen the most successful musical of all time before, but now area residents are getting the chance to experience it up close and personal.
A special production of “The Sound of Music” is playing at UW-Whitewater’s Young Auditorium, 930 W. Main St., on Saturday, Jan. 26 with shows at 1 and 7 p.m.
This showing is a sing- a-long version.
Actors will guide audience members through the performance making them a part of it.
“Calling all nuns, goat herders, hills, Alps, baronesses, brown paper packages tied up with string or any of your favorite things. Get ready to yodel in Whitewater,” said organizers.
“‘Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music’ is not just a chance to see the classic movie on the big screen in magnificent Technicolor and glorious cinemascope. It’s a major audience participation event with subtitles for all the songs.”
Accompanied by a small cast, attendees are encouraged to get up and moving, as well as shout out the lyrics to all of their favorite songs. Dressing up for the show is also encouraged.
Tickets are free, but attendees must get a ticket to enter the theater.
