Investigation leads to drug arrest in Whitewater

The Whitewater Police Department and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Police Services have arrested a Whitewater man on multiple drug-related felony charges.

George Scheuller, 23, of 262 S. Wisconsin Street in Whitewater, was arrested Wednesday after police seized 88 marijuana plants with a potential street value of $189,200 and ecstasy pills from his home, according to a news release from the Whitewater Police Department.

Several other tenants were charged with drug-related offenses.

The incident came after a lengthy investigation in which police received information that drugs were being used and sold by the residents, according to the release.

In all, Scheuller was charged with seven felonies, including possession of 88 marijuana plants, maintaining a drug trafficking place, delivery of ecstasy and several misdemeanor drug charges. The charges are being referred to the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

“Drug use and the illegal sale of narcotics have the potential to present a public safety risk and create a negative impact on our community,” said Capt. Brian Uhl of the Whitewater Police Department. “Police are continually seeking a united partnership with the citizens of Whitewater and we need your involvement.”
