The Geneva Lake West Chamber of Commerce is seeking an executive director as Meg Thompson has announced to the board she will be resigning from the position due to family obligations.
In an email update, Marcia Blimbergs, who serves as president of the chamber’s board, said the board would like to thank Thompson for her service to the chamber.
“It was a trying time for anyone, especially someone new to her position,” Blimbergs wrote. “During her time with us, Meg dedicated hours of research on COVID, to be at the ready for any member questions, as well as getting out information to all.”
Among projects Thompson tackled while in the role as director was helping get the chamber guide put together by working with a brand new vendor, and helping to get the chamber’s new website up and running, according to Blimbergs.
“We are sorry to see her go, but certainly understand family must come first,” she wrote. “Thank you again Meg, we wish you the best of luck.”
Blimbergs said Cherie Setteducate has graciously volunteered to help out while the board looks for a replacement.
“Thank you Cherie for your on-going commitment and dedication to the chamber. We are asking everyone to please be on the lookout for a suitable candidate,” she wrote.
