Golf outing, dinner supports local scholarships
The Geneva Lake West Rotary Club recently announced it’s gearing up to host its 15th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing and Dinner Fundraiser.
The event will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, at Abby Springs Golf Course. Registration will start at 11 a.m. that day. Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m., instruction at 12:15 p.m., shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and the dinner and auction at 5:30 p.m.
“In the spirit of Rotary, proceeds from our Annual Golf Outing and Dinner benefit local student Scholarships for Williams Bay, Faith Christian and Big Foot High Schools,” said Heidi Alten, secretary of the Rotary Club.
Each year the club is able to raise nearly $15,000 to provide scholarships to students in the local communities.
“We strive to raise more money each year but we can’t do it without your help,” Alten said.
There are numerous ways to support the event and in turn, support local students.
“We urge you to participate in this fun event at every level. Golf with friends or business colleagues, invite non-golfing family and friends to our dinner and auction, or promote your business,” Alten said.
Golfers are welcome to register and for both golfers and non-golfing attendees to the dinner, there are many opportunities to win great prizes or participate in the 50/50 raffle.
Chances to win prizes for golfers include: hole-in-one, longest drive, shortest drive (fairway), closest to the pin, drive into the circle, longest putt, straightest drive and lowest three team totals.
“We also have different sponsorship levels and a silent auction,” Alten said.
Those interested in being a sponsor or donating to the silent auction, or who have questions about the outing are asked to email [email protected].
