Chamber director resigns

Cherie Setteducate will stay on through holiday luncheon

Late last week, Cherie Setteducate, who has served as the Geneva Lake West Chamber’s executive director for more than four years, announced she is resigning from the position early next month.

“It is with very mixed emotions that I am resigning my position as Executive Director of the Geneva Lake West Chamber of Commerce,” Setteducate wrote in an email Nov. 8.

She said she submitted a 30-day resignation notice to the chamber’s Board of Directors earlier last week and she will remain in the role through Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Setteducate said she is leaving to take on a sales and marketing role for a friend who started their own business.

“While I am very excited about it, I am very sad to be leaving the Chamber,” she said. “I feel as I have made this role my own and have so enjoyed working with and for all of you.”

Setteducate said the chamber’s holiday luncheon will be held on her last day, Dec. 4, at The Abbey Resort, and offer a special opportunity for her and those she’s gotten to know the past four-plus years.

“I hope to see as many of you there as possible to say goodbye,” she said.

The Board of Directors will be seeking applicants for the executive director position. Inquiries can be directed to board president Marcia Blimbergs by emailing [email protected].

“Thank you for this wonderful opportunity… I will never forget my past 4 1/2 years with the Chamber,” Setteducate said.

The Geneva Lake West Chamber of Commerce is in the Visitor Information Center at 175 Valley View Rd. (Village Hall) in Fontana. According to a listing on the website, the chamber has more than 170 members.
