Pearce Farms to host Alice in Dairyland fundraiser
A special event, “Taste the Wonders of Walworth County” will be held at Pearce Farms Stand in September. It’ll serve as a fundraiser to support the 2020 Alice in Dairyland Finals, which will be held in Walworth County.
“Join us as we celebrate the flavors of our local producers throughout a five-course meal prepared by chef Tyler Sailsbery of The Black Sheep restaurant in Whitewater,” organizers said.
The event, slated for Sunday, Sept. 22, is being co-hosted by the Alice in Dairyland planning committee, the Elkhorn FFA Alumni and Pearce’s Farm Stand.
All proceeds from the farm to table dinner will help fund production costs related to Walworth County hosting the 73rd Alice in Dairyland Finals.
The cost for the five-course meal featuring locally-sourced produce and two drinks is $78 and tickets are available for purchase online at Bit.ly/AliceF2T.
Pearce’s Farm Stand is at W5740 N. Walworth Rd. in Walworth. The doors will open for social hour at 4:30 p.m.; dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.
Companies and/or individuals interested in donating food, beverages, tents and other items for the event are encouraged to email Jennifer Poltermann at jenpoltermann@gmail.com. Donors will be recognized both at the event and as part of the Alice Finals Donor Group.
Abigail Martin, Wisconsin’s 72nd Alice in Dairyland, will be on hand at “Taste the Wonders of Walworth County” to greet visitors to the event. Hailing from Milton, Martin has a passion for all things Wisconsin and a degree in dairy science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Prior to receiving the Alice in Dairyland recognition, Martin worked for DeLaval Inc. in their Northern American marketing and communications department. She said she looks forward to making appearances in Walworth County leading up to the 2020 crowning of the 73rd Alice in Dairyland.
