Model A Days to roll into Sharon

The spirit of the 1920s and 1930s will make its way to Historic Downtown Sharon’s Model A Day event June 2. It’ll feature vehicles lining the streets, people dressed in period apparel, time-era skits, raffles, a swap meet and a variety of food options. (File photo)

Come join the Rock-Ford A’s and Historic Downtown Sharon’s Model A Day event for what’s touted as the Midwest’s largest gathering of Model A’s.

“This celebration of ‘Henry’s Lady’ traditionally hosts hundreds of Model A’s in every body style and color from Wisconsin and at least four surrounding states,” according to Downtown Sharon representatives.

The annual event is slated 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, June 2, and admission is free. Entertainment includes time-era skits, a jazz band, dance performances and a vintage fashion show.

Food choices include a pig roast, “running board lunches,” a bake sale and specialty food vendors. Other activities include a swap meet, crafters, antique shops, a 50/50 raffle, and a raffle for a Model A part.

Guests and villagers are welcome to dress in period apparel, perhaps as a charming flapper or a mysterious gangster.

“On this Sunday of leisure, feel free to wander through Sharon’s curious streets, enjoying the antique Model A’s, kind vendors and live music (featuring the Dixie Land Band), wholesome food (including a pig roast with all the fixings), and the wistful, radiant energy of the summer day,” organizers said.

In addition to the pig roast and running board lunches, other food choices will include burgers and brats, walking tacos, barbecues, hot dogs, popcorn, pies and snow cones.
