Decision in line with trend toward outsourcing
The Fontana Village Board decided to move it’s building and zoning department to an outside contractor, according to a press release sent out Tuesday morning.
“Like many communities in Walworth County, the Village of Fontana has considered its management options and decided to convert its Building and Zoning Department to a position that will be staffed exclusively by an outside contractor,” the release states.
“This change is effective today. Doing so, in the opinion of the Board, is the best way to provide this important service in the most flexible and cost effective way possible,” it states further.
The change, according to the release, also falls in line with the modern trend toward outsourcing building and zoning services.
“The Board wishes to thank its former Building and Zoning Department employees for their service to the residents of Fontana,” the release states.
