The Williams Bay High School Drama Club will present The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, moving away from the school’s traditionally performed drama to a fast-paced, rollicking comedy.
Two narrators and numerous actors and actresses attempt to combine all 209 Brothers Grimm fairy tales into a 110-minute performance. As the Brothers Grimm stories are turned on their heads the cast will visit classics including Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories such as The Devil’s Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands.
Caitlin Sternberg, who plays the roles of Role-King, Talking Fish and Devil, said people should attend because it’s “very funny with a comedic aspect.”
Ben Dellheim, Role-Narrator 2, said he hopes people attend as this is a new show for the Drama Club.
“There is a lot of audience participation. It will be a lot of fun to watch,” he said.
This free-form comedy will feature plenty of audience participation and madcap fun and is student-directed by senior Miss Sophia Sanchez. This year’s cast and crew is one of the largest in recent years at WBHS, boasting 26 students, overseen by adviser Matt Dunlap.
The Brothers Grimm will be performed at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10 in the lecture center at Williams Bay High School, 500 W. Geneva St. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door.
