Big Foot High School, which was nominated by Walworth Landing, in Walworth, was recently presented a $500 Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance Program grant.
Exxon Mobil EAP announced that is granted $500 grants totaling $2 million to K-12 educational institutions in 43 states and the District of Columbia. This is the 18th year that the program has provided grants to local schools across the country.
Since 2000, the Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance program has contributed to local schools through its Exxon and Mobil retailers.
“The Educational Alliance Program is an opportunity for our branded retailers to support their neighborhood schools,” said Mark Shores, U.S. Retail Sales Director, Exxon Mobil Fuels Marketing.
“It is one way we support our retailers’ involvement in the communities where we do business,” Shores added.
Educational Alliance grants can be used for a broad range of programs based on the needs of the individual school.
This year, many schools are using the grants for special projects that stretch beyond academics such as digital cameras, printers, scholarships, art supplies, and playground equipment.
Schools also applied for grants to enhance programs such as character education, professional reading, and storytelling programs.
Exxon Mobil is a long-standing supporter of education programs around the world. Through numerous grant and scholarships programs, employee volunteers and matching gift programs, Exxon Mobil seeks to improve the quality of local schools.
