One hundred and seventy eight Big Foot High School students were given a night of fun, food and prizes from Midnight May 5 to 6 a.m., May 6 at Big Foot High School last weekend.
“The evening started with Comedian Mike Marvell from Cudahy. When he was finished tickling their funny bones, the students spent the rest of the evening playing laser tag from Lake Lawn, jousting, sumo wrestling and knocker ball soccer furnished by the National Guard, and driving a race car simulator sponsored by Kunes Country Ford,” according to Dan Dowden, who, along with Greg Enz, served as advisors for the event.
“Movies, ping pong, bags and video games were also scattered through the school for our students to enjoy. Black Jack was dealt throughout the evening by Greg Lueke,” he said.
There was plenty of food for all of the students, according to the advisors, including pizza provided by Pie High Pizza and A Mini-Storage, LLC; cotton candy, ice cream, slushies and nachos provided by Heyer’s Ace Hardware; and soda, iced tea and water were donated by Walworth Landing.
There were over 120 prizes handed out with the grand prize table including a 55-inch flat screen TV, a signed Travis Fredrick jersey, a necklace from Fontana Jewelry, two blue tooth speakers, a Clearwater Kayak certificate, a Packers Jersey and bag and a 32-inch flat screen TV.
“There were many gifts and gift cards handed out throughout the evening as well. Big Foot’s Students for Good Choices would like to thank all the donors for their gifts, time, food and encouragement for this very successful evening,” Dowden said.
Numerous individuals and businesses helped make the event possible, according to the advisors.
“A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteer chaperones, parents that donated time, food and money, those who helped to plan the whole night, Big Foot administrators, custodians and kitchen crew,” he said.
