Challenger to represent county’s District 9; Newcomer to join Walworth Village Board

It appears that in the Geneva Lake West area Tuesday’s election will lead to some change-up in county and community leadership.
In the race for the District 9 seat on the Walworth County Board of Supervisors, according to unofficial results posted by Walworth County challenger Susan Pruessing will be taking over the seat of incumbent Richard Brandl. Pruessing garnered 1,770 votes while Brandl was able to muster up only 971.
In the Village of Walworth, newcomer Randy Maynard will replace Trustee Kent Johnson on the Village of Walworth Board of Trustees. Maynard earned the votes of 361 voters, 38 more than Johnson. LeRoy Nordmeyer and Ed Snyder will be returning to the board with 438 and 363 votes, respectively.
In the Village of Fontana, newcomer Stan Livingston will be joining trustees Rick Pappas and David Prudden on the board. Livingston beat out incumbent George Spadoni Jr. by 42 votes to claim the seat with 325 votes to Spadoni’s 283. Pappas had 506 votes and Prudden had 393.
In the Village of Sharon, all three candidates which ran unopposed – Pamela Schutt, Carl Fritz and Robert Carlson – claimed their seats. Schutt had 313 votes, Fritz had 248 and Carlson had 192.
In the Village of Williams Bay, all three incumbents are returning to the Village Board for another term. James Killian has 637 votes, Gregory Trush had 587 votes and David Jameson had 579 votes.
School boards
In the Walworth Joint 1 School District election, Jason Gerdes, 397 votes, and Suzanne Zillmer, 568 votes, beat out their opponents to claim their seats on the district’s board of education.
Their opponents, Steve Torrez and V. Bereckis-Gibbs, garnered 345 and 348 votes, respectively.
As for the Williams Bay School District Board of Education, Jack Lothian and incumbent Diana Woss won by a large lead in the polls with 895 and 649 votes, respectively. Challenger Joshua Skolnick garnered 270 votes and Bradley Cripe earned 184 votes.
