One hundred years of continuous ownership by the Rowbotham family of farm properties in Walworth Township was recognized at the Sept. 24 meeting of the Historical Society of Walworth and Big Foot Prairie.
The meeting, attended by 75 people, was at the Rowbotham Farms property just south of the intersection of Ridge and Lakeville Roads southeast of Walworth. Norlan “Joe” and Anne Rowbotham hosted a potluck supper prior to the program.
The couple was presented with two plaques to honor a century of family farm ownership. Society president Nancy Lehman of Walworth Township presented the first one. The second was presented by Bob Pearce, a township farmer, on behalf of the Town of Walworth Board of Supervisors. His son, Bill, is a board member.
