Village president voted out, though will likely retain seat
According to unofficial results from the Walworth County Clerk’s Office, a new trustee will be serving the Village of Walworth after Tuesday’s election.
Thomas Connelly, Jr., garnered 241 votes, the most of the four candidates on Tuesday’s ballot, and will be replacing incumbent Dennis Vanderbloemen, who received 146 votes. Todd Waters accumulated 231 votes and Richard Novak mustered up 206.
As for Village of Walworth president, Mary Ann Kahl with 211 votes, compared to incumbent David Rasmussen’s 167. Though Kahl won the election, she said last week with having recently accepted the position of District Administrator for Walworth Joint School District 1, she would politely decline the seat in the event she won the election.
Village of Sharon
In the Village of Sharon, Michael Brooke (154 votes), Lawrence Diderich (152 votes) and Pam Woodrich (148 votes) will retain their seats as village trustees. Zachary Cantwell, who ran against the three incumbents, garnered 51 of the 507 votes cast for village trustees.
Mark Ruosch will retain his seat as village president.
