Appointment to begin July 1
The Walworth Joint No. 1 School District Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Mary Ann Kahl to the position of District Administrator in open session on March 20.
According to a press release from School Board, utilizing the services of Mary DeYoung of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards to facilitate the candidate search, the board followed a process that included a series of interviews, stakeholder input, and a community forum.
“After much deliberation, many meetings and interviews, the board along with input from a citizens committee, chose a candidate who has a depth and breadth of educational experience and will make a positive impact on the education of our students,” Board President Kelly Freeman said.
“We are pleased to announce Dr. Mary Ann Kahl as the next educational leader of Walworth Joint No. 1.”
Kahl’s appointment in Walworth Joint No. 1 School District will begin July 1.
According to the release, Kahl joins the Walworth Joint No. 1 School District following Interim District Administrator Pam Larson and longtime District Administrator Pam Knorr. Most recently, the release said Kahl has served as an administrator in the School District of Janesville and has also worked as district administrator of Alden-Hebron School District.
The release said, Kahl also brings experiences from Higher Education as a former Department Chair in Educational Leadership for National Louis University in Chicago.
“I am extremely excited to be serving my home town in this professional capacity,” Kahl said. “I have worked outside of my community for my entire profession and to be coming home to share my ideas and passion is a dream come true.
“I know that together with our supportive Board of Education, our talented staff, and committed parents and community we will provide an educational experience for our students that is world class.”
