Kate Dawson, a local chiropractor, recently joined Walworth’s Community Chiropractic Center, 541 Kenosha St., bringing a therapeutic lifestyle change program along with her.
According to the press release, Dawson specializes in helping members of the community who feel they have lost their health through a therapeutic lifestyle change program known as FirstLine Therapy.
FirstLine Therapy, according to Dawson, focuses on individuals who have Cardio-Metabolic Syndrome (abdominal obesity, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and/or high blood sugar levels), Diabetes, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, uncontrollable weight gain, and chronic inflammation.
Dawson said through the use of FirstLine Therapy she works to optimize body composition to lessen the burden and impact of these chronic conditions through a combination of food, supplementation, physical activity, and stress adaptation. Dawson said this program can lead to increased energy, weight loss, increased muscle gain, reduced body fat, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, greater movement, and improved health.
Dawson said the program might also help lower or eliminate the need for medication, but that would need to be decided in consultation with the prescribing physician.
Dawson is a 2011 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo.
Dawson’s office hours are on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon and 2-6 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (262) 275-1700.
