A Town of Walworth toddler attacked by two pit bulls at his family’s home died of his injuries Wednesday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 12:46 p.m. the sheriff’s department received a 911 call from Susan Iwicki, 30, located at N2037 N. Lakeshore Dr., Walworth.
The release said Iwicki stated she and a 14-month-old boy were being attacked by two Pit Bulls she owns on the property and had sustained multiple injuries. The animals were removed from the property and taken to a local veterinarian to be euthanized.
The boy was transported to Mercy-Walworth Medical Center Hospital in Lake Geneva for his injuries, and later taken by Flight for Life to a Milwaukee-area hospital with critical injuries. He died of those injuries at 3:32 p.m.
The circumstances of the attack have not yet been released.
The investigation is open and ongoing.
