New build on the way

Habitat in Walworth County to have groundbreaking ceremony

Habitat for Humanity in Walworth County will be breaking ground on another home this summer on Aralia Road in Bloomfield. Upon receiving numerous applications, the Family Selection Committee successfully chose a family for the build.

Habitat in Walworth County recently announced they will be building a home along side local community member and her family. The woman is a four-year veteran of the Army National Guard. Out of respect for the veteran’s service, Habitat Walworth is soliciting various veterans’ groups to volunteer for the build as well.

“I was overwhelmed at the generosity of Habitat for Humanity and being selected as a family partner. I look forward to the experience of helping to build my own home!” the Habitat recipient said.

The woman and her son will assist with the build alongside family, friends, local volunteers, and Habitat board members.

The groundbreaking ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, which is open to friends, neighbors and community members, will celebrate the start of the build. Those who choose to attend can expect to meet the family, share in fellowship, pray for a successful project and enjoy some refreshments.

As progress on the build continues, Habitat in Walworth County will be looking for numerous volunteers to help with the build.
