The Board of Directors of the Lake Geneva Economic Development Corp. has selected Andrew J. Dammeir as its new executive director.
He will replace longtime director Joe Cardiff on Jan. 1. Dammeir will work with Cardiff until that time. Cardiff has been asked to become an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors once Dammeir replaces him.
The Lake Geneva Economic Development Corp. is the non-profit corporation known for the development of the Lake Geneva Business Park as well as its support of a variety of improvement projects in the City of Lake Geneva. The corporation has been active in community development since 1981 with primary goals of increased employment and real estate tax base. It is in the initial development phase of the Business Commons of Lake Geneva, a follow-up business park project to continue organized community growth and development.
Dammeir is a lifelong resident of Lake Geneva. He graduated from Badger High School in 1977 with high honors and then attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. From 1977 to 2003 he was the owner and operator of a contract cleaning service Excel Maintenance, Inc. Since 2001 he has been founder and sole owner of Angelo Development LLP, a commercial real estate development, management and holding company. Dammeir has been responsible for the development of five multi-tenant commercial facilities in Lake Geneva and the surrounding area.
In 2003 Dammeir partnered to expand Hibbard, Dammeir and Associates real estate appraisal firm in Lake Geneva. As a result he attended the Appraisal Institute of Chicago and has been an associate member of the Appraisal Institute, Wisconsin Chapter since 2003.
He, his wife Sue and family are members of the Trinity Lutheran Church parish.
