A recent fundraiser at West Side Elementary School in Elkhorn was a messy affair but provided laughs and raised money for the American Heart Association. A total of $13,361.46 was raised, thanks to 124 students who registered, 35 of whom raised $100 or more and were able to participate in the sliming. Student Braelyn Fletcher slimes principal Benjamin Kitslaar at the event. Fletcher, who raised the most money that day, was presented a plaque for being the heart hero.
