Walworth County will have its annual Clean Sweep this weekend.
The annual Clean Sweep event helps household residents (free of charge) properly dispose of damaged, banned, unusable or unwanted products that contain volatile chemicals.
County residents only may bring their household hazardous waste to the:
- City of Whitewater Public Works Storage Facility, 150 E. Starin Road, from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2;
- Town of Linn Municipal Garage, N611 Zenda Road in Zenda, from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2
- Walworth County Public Works Department, W4097 Highway NN, Elkhorn, from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 3.
Clean Sweep is funded in part by the Town of Darien Mallard Ridge Landfill Fund, and a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
Walworth County also acknowledges local supporters for their monetary or service-related donations and contributions to the program. They include: Advanced Disposal, Bea Industries, City of Delavan, City of Whitewater Public Works Department, Geneva Lakes Conservancy, Halverson Door LLC, Hawk’s View Golf Club, Jefferson County Solid Waste Department, Lake Como Lake Committee, Lauderdale Lakes Improvement Association, Olm and Associates, Pat’s Services Inc., Theodore W. Peters, Town of Linn and Walworth County Metropolitan Sewerage District.
