He was convicted of hitting woman with hammer, rape
A Mississippi man was sentenced Feb. 24 to 115½ years in prison for raping and attacking a woman with a hammer in Elkhorn before the 2018 Walworth County Fair.
In addition to the prison term, Terrence D. Leflore, 25, of Jackson, Miss., was sentenced to 47½ years extended supervision.
For attempted first-degree intentional homicide, he was ordered to 51 years in prison with 20 years extended supervision; for first-degree sexual assault causing great bodily harm, he received 46 years in prison with 20 years extended supervision; and for armed robbery, he got 18½ years in prison with 7½ years extended supervision. All of the sentences are to run consecutively.
Leflore pleaded guilty to the charges as part of a plea agreement. In exchange, charges of first-degree sexual assault with the use of a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery intending great bodily harm, first-degree reckless injury and resisting or obstructing an officer were dismissed.
Leflore faced up to 160 years in prison with an additional six years on each count because he was charged as a repeater.
According to the criminal complaint, the aunt of a 21-year-old woman went to a parking lot on Lincoln Street where the woman parks her car while she works after the niece did not return home from work at the usual time Aug. 28, 2018 – the day before the county fair began.
