The Friends of Lakeland School invite members of the Walworth County community to the 17th Annual Waffles with Santa event this year.
It’ll be held Saturday, Dec. 7 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and feature breakfast – egg and butter waffles, sausage, toppings, chocolate milk or coffee – for $8 (10 years old and older), $6 (kids 5 to 9 years old) and free (kids, four and younger.)
Photos with Santa will be available from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. at a cost of $8 a photo.
The Lakeland School Choir will perform twice, at 9 and 10:15 a.m. and there will also be raffles, gift cards from communities throughout the county, gift baskets, Lakeland School crafts and 50/50 cash raffles.
Lakeland School will also be selling grown garlic braids, poinsettias, 22-inch wreaths and birdhouses.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of Lakeland School, which, since 2002 has been able to provide over $200,000 worth of teacher and staff requests for supplies, therapeutic materials and equipment, including skill building and job training projects.
“We hope to continue this mission with your help, whether it be monetarily, goods, or a gift certificate donation. All donors are given recognition at the event,” the board of directors state in a letter about the event.
Friends of Lakeland School is a registered Wisconsin 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Anyone with an item or certificate for donation is asked to contact Martha Moat at mmoat99@gmail.com or 262-370-4815 to arrange pick up before Dec. 1.
There is also a matching donation taking place on the day of the Waffles event, which will match up to $1,000 in donations received during the event.
