The Dementia Friendly Community Initiative of Walworth County will be holding it’s bi-monthly meeting at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, at the A.D.R.C. offices at the Walworth County Health & Human Services (east entrance), W4051 County Road NN, Elkhorn.
The meeting will include planning and discussion of upcoming events and training programs.
“We welcome all public input and assistance in continuing to provide training to the entire Walworth County community,” Eric Russow stated.
The group’s efforts have included training the Elkhorn and Lake Geneva police departments; the Delavan Fire and Rescue Department; the Lake Geneva Fire and Parking Services departments, Walworth County Health & Human Services, and several churches and small businesses.
“In the past two years we have trained about 2,000 individuals throughout the community. Help us spread the word about the ‘Purple Angel’ award,” Russow said, referring to the dementia friendly designation presented following training.
