John Murphy, Utilities Director for the City of Elkhorn, has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin. He was elected to the post of first vice president at the trade association’s Annual Conference May 18. His one-year term will conclude at MEUW’s 2019 Conference.
Murphy is a long-time leader in the electric-utility industry. He has been a part of the Elkhorn municipal utility since 2012. Prior to his time in Elkhorn, Murphy was head of the municipal utilities in Fennimore (2005-2012) and Cuba City (1979-2004).
Formed in 1928, MEUW is the state association providing safety services, leadership and management training, advocacy, and member support to the 81 municipal electric utilities across Wisconsin.
