Based on reports from various new agencies throughout the area, police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the Town of Geneva.

According to reports, police were called to the area of Lincoln Drive and Gooseberry Road shortly after 5 p.m. Friday.

FOX6 News is reporting police said no officers were injured in the incident, though police have not released further information about who was shot and the details behind the incident and will not be releasing further information at this time. Additionally, the news agency reports that the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Criminal Investigations are handling the investigation.

The website mnpoliceclips.com has posted about 20-minutes of what it claims to be recorded police audio from Friday’s officer-involved shooting. The site said it had edited out dead-air and silence to condense the length of the audio file.

According to the recorded audio, police were called to W3836 Lincoln Drive in the Town of Geneva for a report a man had smashed the caller’s windows into the bathroom, reportedly with an axe. Seven people were in the home at the time, according to the audio.

Shortly after police initially passed the home, the caller reported the father had taken the weapon from the man.

About 4-minutes into the audio clip, an officer reported shots had been fired, that no officers had been hurt and Elkhorn rescue was called to the scene to tend to an injured subject. The man was transported to Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.

Updates will be available in local newspapers and online at mywalworthcounty.com as they become available.
