Auditions for the upcoming Lakeland Players presentation of “Annie” will be held at the Walworth County Performing Arts Center (old Sprague Theater) at 15 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. for girls 7-14 years of age, and on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. for adults.
All those who wish to try out should come prepared with 16 bars of music to sing (accompaniment will be provided). Appropriate shoes for dancing should be worn, and a list of rehearsal conflicts, if any, should also be brought along.
Even though auditions for the Lakeland Players’ upcoming Broadway hit musical “Annie” are a couple of weeks away, one star has already been cast – Lucy, a golden-doodle belonging to the Clair family of Williams Bay. She will play the part of Annie’s canine companion, Sandy. All other parts are open.
One of the main characters, Daddy Warbucks, is a bald-headed billionaire. In searching for the perfect Warbucks, the Players are looking for “smooth-headed” men who “must be dignified and in control, yet able to show affection.”
“Annie” will be directed by Linda Kouzes of Delavan with David Whitney of Lake Geneva as choreographer. Musical directors will be Janet Palmer of Delavan, and Sharon Juchems of Lake Geneva. Beth Sukala of Elkhorn, will be producing.
Performance dates are set for Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9.
