A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26 for a Mukwonago woman charged with a seventh drunken driving offense in the Town of Lyons.
Laurie A. Walker, 51, was charged Nov. 12 in Walworth County Circuit Court with operating while intoxicated, seventh offense.
According to the criminal complaint, Walker was apprehended for driving 90 mph in a 50-mph zone and weaving within her lane of traffic at Interstate 43 and Highway D in the Town of Lyons on Nov. 9. Walker had slurred speech, difficulty keeping balance, failed field sobriety tests and admitted drinking alcohol.
She was convicted of drunken driving in December 1990, February 1991, May 1995, February 1999, February 2003 and August 2008. A seventh conviction carries penalties of at least three years but not more than 12-1/2 years in prison and at least two years but not more than three years driver’s license revocation.
