Public invited Thursday for parade, picnic
The 24th annual Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth returns to Camp Timber-lee next week.
The theme this year is “Sea what Can Be” and there are a lot of fun activities and good times planned for the kids.
Visitor’s Day is Thursday, Aug. 16. The annual parade begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by a lunch, program and check presentation. All are invited.
Motorcycle riders are invited to Burn Camp Bike Night on Tuesday, Aug. 14, for Burn Camp Bike Night. The event begins at the House of Harley-Davidson at 4 p.m. Kickstands up at 4:30 p.m. for the trip to Iron Town Harley-Davidson for the annual ride to Burn Camp at Camp Timber-lee in East Troy.
Registration starts at 5 p.m. at Iron Town Harley-Davidson, the ride starts at 5:45 p.m. Riders will line up and parade into Burn Camp for the kids followed by a corn roast.
The Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth is put on by the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin.
According to the U.S. Fire Administration Wisconsin did not have a civilian fire death during the month of July, but there have been more than 30 fire related deaths so far this year.
Wisconsin also suffered tragic line-of-duty deaths for both police and fire. This includes Sun Prairie Fire Department Captain Cory Barr who perished in an explosion on July 10.
Camp Timber-Lee is at N8705 Scout Road in East Troy.
