Corn and Brat Roast, Community-wide Rummage, Brewfest return this weekend
The unofficial kickoff to summer begins Memorial Day weekend and there are plenty of ways to celebrate locally.
The East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce’s 42nd annual Corn and Brat Roast will return May 25 to 28, at East Troy Village Square Park, 2881 Main St.
The four-day event, featuring roasted sweet corn, brats, hot dogs, burgers, soda and beer, as well as live entertainment, will run from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.
“Nothing beats getting that first ear of buttery sweet corn while listening to live music in downtown East Troy,” said Vanessa Lenz, Executive Director of the East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the event.
“The event is not only a community tradition, but a family tradition.”
The following entertainment lineup will take place rain or shine, with no cover charge:
Friday, May 25, 4 to 8 p.m. – Andy Carroll and The People He Owes $ To
Saturday, May 26, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Spare Change and Friends
3:30-6:30 p.m. – Lunchmoney Bullies
Sunday, May 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – The Barnacles; 2 to 6 p.m. – Big Al Wetzel Band; and
Monday, May 28, 1 to 5 p.m. – Smooth Blues.
East Troy Brewfest
East Troy’s third annual Brewfest will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 at East Troy Village Square Park, 2881 Main St., featuring samples of over 35 craft beers and micro brews from area breweries like Lakefront Brewery, Sprecher Brewing Company, City Lights Brewing Company, The Hive Taproom, Broken Bat Brewery, Explorium Brew Pub and more.
The event will also feature the best local homebrewers in East Troy, bringing out their best drafts for attendees to taste and rate. Big Al Wetzel Band will perform from 2 to 6 p.m.
“We love that this event runs during East Troy’s beloved Corn and Brat Roast on the square. It’s a great chance to be outdoors in an awesome setting,” said Lenz. “With live music, an impressive beer lineup and delicious food, this will be our best Brewfest yet.”
Attendees will get a chance to sample any beer they’d like and will receive a commemorative East Troy Brewfest glass and food samples from Hometown Sausage Kitchen and Grassway Organics.

Get ready to rummage
The weekend events also include the Chamber’s 27th annual East Troy Community-wide Rummage Sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Helping Hands of St. Peter’s in East Troy will have its annual rummage to fund its mission to help those in need from May 24 to 26. The rummage sale runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy. The Helping Hands clothing center will also be open.
Antique appraisal event
An antique appraiser will be on the village square on Saturday, May 26 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. for an “Antique Roadshow”-style antique appraisal event. Bring up to three items for a free appraisal.
Goodwill collection set
Martin’s Hardware-Rental and Pet, Spotlight Real Estate and Goodwill will provide a truck to collect leftover rummage sale items and other contributions from the community from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 in the Martin’s shopping center, at 3288 Main St.
Junk in the Trunk
The East Troy Family and Community Resource Center will hold its third Junk In The Trunk fundraiser sale held in conjunction with the East Troy Community-wide

Friday Farmers Market
The East Troy Farmers Market will celebrate its 10th season from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 25 at East Troy Village Square Park, 2881 Main St.
The market will feature over vendors selling homegrown and local produce, specialty items, meats, honey, cheese, flowers, crafts and more. For a complete lineup, visit easttroy.org.
Memorial Day observances in East Troy
American Legion Loomis-Martin Post 188 will present a Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 28.
A parade will begin 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Beulah Avenue and Main Street. The parade will travel east onto Main Street and will enter the East Troy Village Square at the north sidewalk.
The ceremony will begin when all groups are in place on the square and will include performances by East Troy Middle School and High School bands.
The program includes local representatives to Badger Girls and Badger Boys State, a rifle salute for veterans who have passed away and roll call of the veterans who have died during the past year.
A ceremony honoring a deceased veteran will be held following the ceremony.
