An initial appearance was scheduled for March 16 for an Eagle man charged with trying to sell pain pills at an East Troy bar.
Thomas S. Baker, 44, was charged March 14 in Walworth County Circuit Court with possession with intent to deliver narcotics.
According to the criminal complaint, police received tips at about 1 a.m. March 11 that a man was trying to sell prescription medication at the East Troy House, 2093 Division St.
Police found a man, identified as Baker, that matched the description the callers provided sitting outside the East Troy House. While an East Troy officer waited for a Walworth County sheriff’s deputy to assist, the officer learned Baker had gone out the back door of the establishment and was trying to sell five Vicodin for $40, according to the complaint.
When police approached Baker and another person standing next to a car, an officer saw two pills on the seat of the vehicle, according to the complaint. Baker told police he had a prescription for the pills and showed police a bottle for a prescription of 120 hydrocodone pills that had been filled two days prior, according to the complaint.
The officer noted only 16 pills were left in the bottle and asked Baker about the remainder of the pills. Baker told the officer he didn’t want to bring all of them in case something happened to them, according to the complaint.
