East Troy High School to host design review for program
East Troy High School will host the Critical Design Review for the Wisconsin Schools that participate in the NASA HUNCH program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 15. Multiple teams from Racine Case High School and Platteville High School are competing with East Troy.
Each school will have representative teams that will present their projects with both prototypes and poster presentations to NASA engineers, school representatives, and community members. Each high school team has been working on developing projects to showcase at the critical design review. After the review, teams have a chance to be chosen to represent their school either in Cleveland at the Glenn Research Center or in Houston at the Johnson Space Center.
In early December the teams had a preliminary design review at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in which they received feedback regarding their projects. Throughout the school year the students have been researching and developing their projects. The East Troy teams include developing a quieter fan, studying food preservation, and developing a location app to be used on the International Space Station.
A large part of the program is that students present and explain their projects to guests at the review, therefore, the press, community members, parents, teachers and administrators are welcome to attend. Bring a photo ID.
