The Good Earth Church of the Divine will have an opening reception for the “Cranes of Winter – Sacred Winter: Mobiles and More” exhibit from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute Gallery, W2493 Highway ES, East Troy.
The exhibit will run until mid-March and will be open to the public on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends by appointment.
The exhibit will feature the work of Tom Raushke, Palmyra, and include 15 large, hand-carved wood Sandhill Cranes suspended from the ceiling and detailed carvings of the natural world on the walls.
Raushke and his wife and fellow artist, Kaaren Wiken, own Xn-Trix Studio in Palmyra, which their artwork.
Raushke and Wiken are the founders of the Kettle Moraine Studio Tour that has shared many Wisconsin artists’ work each fall for 19 years, engaging visitors on a trail through the colorful Kettle Moraine to visit working artists at no charge to the public.
While Wiken’s steel sculptures are not part of the December exhibition, two of her embroideries will be, as she is also a zen sewing mistress.
The winter exhibit is part of a series of quarterly art exhibitions featured at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute and hosted by the Good Earth Church of the Divine.
All sales of artwork at the exhibit will go directly to the artist.
