East Troy woman happy to take playhouse home after years of buying raffle tickets
Sue Schmidt of East Troy is the winner of the playhouse sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mukwonago and built by students in the Mukwonago High School’s building trades class.
The winning ticket was drawn at the weekly Rotary Club meeting on June 29.
Schmidt bought tickets at Pick ‘n Save at the end of April, the first weekend of raffle ticket sales. She said she plans to use the playhouse as a “She Shed,” the feminine version of a Man Cave.
This is the 10th year the Rotary Club of Mukwonago has sponsored construction of the playhouse by high school students. The value of the materials going into the playhouse tops out at more than $3,000.
Proceeds from this year’s ticket sales will benefit Mukwonago High School’s building trades program as well as the many causes supported by the Rotary Club of Mukwonago, including local food pantries, TriSkill Community Day Program, scholarships for graduating seniors, and other local outreach efforts.
Founded in 1990, the Rotary Club of Mukwonago has logged 530 service hours in the community over the last year. For more information about the club, visit www.mukwonagorotary.org.
