The East Troy Village Board appointed former village trustee John Alexander to fill the open seat on the board after Scott Seager took the Village Board president seat.
Alexander addressed the board Monday night before his appointment, thanking the members for their consideration.
“I appreciate the offer and was humbled when you called me the other day, Scott (Seager),” he said. “I think there will be more traction now with the new faces and I’m thrilled to help out wherever I can.”
Alexander served on the Village Board from October 1996 to April 2012, when he chose not to run for re-election, saying he was a bit “burned out” at the time, but after a five-year break was ready to get back into things.
Alexander was sworn in immediately after the unanimous vote and took his seat with the board members for the remainder of the meeting.
Alexander is the husband of village Deputy Clerk Lorri Alexander.
