The residents in the Village of East Troy will have the opportunity to vote on more than half the board’s makeup in the April 4 Spring Election when the three open trustee seats and the Village Board president’s seat are up for election.
Up for re-election for trustee are Scott Seager, Dusty Stanford and Fred Douglas. Newcomers John Jacoby and Alex Alger have also thrown their hats into the ring for the spring election.
Seager is also challenging Village Board President Randy Timms for his seat on the board. Next week’s edition of the newspaper will preview that election. If Seager wins both the president’s seat and a trustee position, he said he will take the president’s position and then the open trustee seat will be filled by someone appointed by the board. A special election will be held in spring of 2018 to election a trustee to fill out the remaining year of that term.
With four board seats on the ballot, the seven-member board could be radically different looking a month from now.
