The East Troy Community School District is having multiple events to combat bullying in October to coincide with the National Bullying Prevention Month.
Middle school counselor Krista Iserloth and Prairie View and Doubek counselor Christine Hamele briefed the board on several upcoming happenings at the schools and in the district.
“We want to focus on the positive behaviors that combat bullying,” Iserloth told the School Board at the Sept. 26 meeting.
On Oct. 3, which is the World Day of Bullying Prevention, students and staff are encouraged to dress in blue and will be hearing about the dangers and pitfalls of social media from Jerry Ackerman.
Ackerman will also present “Parenting in the SnapChat Generation” at 6:30 p.m. on Monday night at the high school. Community members are also invited to attend.
