The East Troy Community Schools were put into an external lock down at about 2:35 p.m. today after Village of East Troy police notified district administration of a possible threat.
“There was a comment made by a pupil not on school grounds that the police found concerning and they let us know and we decided the best course of action was to put the schools on an external lock down,” District Administrator Chris Hibner said. “It was only for about five minutes, the police were able to locate the pupil and let us know it was being handled, so we were able to lift the lock down.”
Hibner said a text alert was sent to the parents in the district at the time, but it the matter was resolved so quickly by the time many parents had received notification, it was all over.
