A Milwaukee man is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 20 on felony charges in connection with a Sept. 12 crash in East Troy that killed a motorcyclist.

Andrew Carroll, 19, was charged Sept. 15 in Walworth County Circuit Court with second-degree reckless homicide; knowingly operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, causing death; and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

Carroll was allegedly driving from Whitewater to Milwaukee after a night of drinking beer and smoking marijuana when he veered into the oncoming lane of traffic on Highway 20 at Division Street and caused a collision that resulted in the sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle catching fire.

The crash killed Andrew T. Pearson, 43, and injured his wife, Antrea Pearson, who were on the motorcycle that caught fire, according to the criminal complaint. Andrew Pearson was dead at the scene, and Antrea Pearson was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa with a broken left arm and leg, according to the complaint.

Another motorcyclist, Jeffrey G. Marker, was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital with a broken pelvis and a fracture at the base of his skull, according to the complaint.

Carroll did not have a valid driver’s license and said he fell asleep while driving.
