Result sends officials back to the drawing board

The East Troy Community School District facility needs referendum was voted down Tuesday by 406 votes. Vote totals, according to unofficial results Tuesday, are:
No 3,120
Yes 2,714
Turn out was large for the midterm elections and with 5,834 residents casting their vote in the district, the referendum went down 53.5 percent to 46.5 percent, according to the unofficial results.
This is the third time the School District has tried to get a facility needs referendum passed in the last 2 1/2 years. The first referendum failed at $17.2 million failed in November of 2012. The district went to referendum again for $19 million in April of 2013 and that effort also failed.
