An East Troy man faces two felony counts of child pornography following an ongoing investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel M. Taubert, a resident of 1839 Division St., was charged Feb. 14 with possession of child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child.
Agents from the DCI, with assistance from Walworth County sheriff’s deputies, searched Taubert’s home on Feb. 1, 2012, according to a news release.
A computer forensic analyst with DCI uncovered 18 images of child pornography, and an email account associated with the distribution of child pornography, according to the release.
In an interview with investigators, Taubert admitted to downloading and sharing child pornography, authorities said.
Taubert is set to make an initial appearance March 6 in Walworth County Circuit Court.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office is a member of Wisconsin’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
