The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is hosting a public information meeting to discuss upcoming reconstruction of Highway 20, from Highway 67 and Townline Road in East Troy.
The meeting, scheduled Thursday, will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Troy Town Hall, N8870 Briggs St.
The meeting will be an informal open house, with a short presentation at 5 p.m. to discuss the new alignment alternatives near Zimmerman Road and County Road J.
The project team will be available to answer questions and address concerns relating to the project, which is scheduled to start in 2020.
Safety concerns and poor pavement conditions have prompted WisDOT to reconstruct the roadway.
The current roadway has numerous substandard horizontal and vertical curves that are limiting visibility along the roadway.
In order to bring the road up to current standards and eliminate safety concerns, the roadway will need to be realigned.
WisDOT will present three new alignment alternatives for the two horizontal curves south of Highway 20 and County Road J and the Adams Road intersection.
Residents or property owners located between Adams Road and Sterman Road on County J are encouraged to attend, as they will likely be most impacted by the alternative.
Those unable to attend the meeting, or who would like more information, can contact Tom Lazcano at (262) 574-5437. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Tom Lazcano, P.E. WisDOT Project Manager at 141 NW Barstow, Waukesha, WI 53187-0798 or emailed to tom.lazcano@dot.wi.gov.
