Yep, it’s that time of year again! We’re sure you can remember how fun your homecoming activities were – the pride you felt over your college, the annual parade, asking your crush to the dance, the seniors pulling pranks on teachers, people using their New Jersey fake ID to bring beer to the after party, it was an amazing time! If at least one group of people didn’t get in trouble, it wasn’t a proper homecoming!

And now, as another school year comes to an end, East Troy High School has kicked off its Homecoming activities this week with a Dancing Through the Decades theme at the center of the celebration.

A week-long series of events will culminate with the Homecoming football game and dance this weekend.

The East Troy High School varsity football team will face Edgerton on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at Trojan Stadium, 3128 Graydon Ave.

The Homecoming Parade will start at 3:30 p.m. Friday. The parade route begins at the high school, heading east on Main Street, around the village square and back to the high school.

The Homecoming Dance will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 from 8 to 11 p.m. with the crowning of the king and queen at about 9:30 p.m. in the Bret Miller gymnasium.

Tickets for the homecoming dance will be sold during lunch through Thursday and at the door for $5.

Representing ETHS on the homecoming court are freshman class representatives M.E. Dodge and Jeremy Dedick, sophomore class representatives Emma Harris and Michael McNabb, junior class representatives Claire Loth and Randall Rafa Todd and senior class representatives Brittaney Kendall, Alex Kazmierski, Kelsey Burton, Dani Stemper, Julia Bower, Ashlee Arendt, Tucker Braunschweig, Daniel Runnels, Joey Dedick and Nate Dodge.

Other Homecoming activities include an all school pep rally at 1:50 p.m. on Friday. The Powder Puff football game series and dress up days traditions are also continuing this year.

Students have also been involved in making class floats and banners, which are hanging on the village square.
