Michael Fields Agricultural Institute will celebrate Harvest Festival on Saturday, Aug. 25 from noon to 8 p.m.
The non-profit, located at W2493 County Road ES, has been hosting the annual event since 2004.
From noon-6 p.m., the festival will feature a local farmers market with a variety of items and farm products; live “toe-tappin” music by Brew City Drifters and Adam Helwin; a feature exhibit of Paul Thoresen’s “Cows: A Closer Look” photo series (30 percent of sales will benefit MFAI); intern-led Stella Garden tours; hayride field tours; sweet corn and watermelon picking; sustainability demos and presentations of the work MFAI shares; and children’s activities and games.
A grand finale Square Dance will run from 6-8 p.m. in the white barn featuring the Limber Timber Square Dancers of Elkhorn.
The event is free and will be held rain or shine.
“Summer Harvest Fest is a unique opportunity for all to visit and discover what is behind farming and healthy food choices while participating in fun-filled day of activities,” according to MFAI.
