Early Saturday afternoon, the City of Delavan and Town of Delavan fire departments responded to a structure fire at 129 S. 4th Street in Delavan. The fire began in a barn being used as a garage and was fully engulfed when crews arrived, according to Delavan Fire Chief Tim O’Neill. Winds of 45 mph led to the fire spreading to a three-story coach house being used as a garage at 130 S. 5th Street and to an adjoining shed. O’Neill said power lines had fallen on the structures, which initially hampered firefighting efforts by the 39 city and town firefighters that responded and there were no injuries. It was one of four fires related to wind the department responded to on May 1. See more photos in the May 6 Delavan Enterprise. (Courtesy of Delavan Fire Dept.)
