Delavan Friends of the Park in partnership with the Town of Delavan will host its annual Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, June 27, from 4 to 11 p.m.
The celebration is to be held at the Delavan Community Park, 1220 S. Shore Dr., Delavan, at the corner of Highway 50 and South Shore.
Festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with WJVL broadcasting live from the event. There will be food trucks, vendors and live entertainment by Jenny Hundt. Food trucks include Mr. P’s Grilled Cheese, Dine with a Swine (BBQ), Lucy’s Kettle Corn, Sweet Treats and Yogi’s Pudd’n.
Delavan Friends of the Park will be hosting beverage sales; no outside alcohol will be permitted. At 6 p.m., South State Band will take the stage and play until the fireworks begin at dusk. The fireworks show is provided by nationally acclaimed J&M Displays.
One new element to the celebration this year will be a drawing for exclusive access to one of the lakeside pavilions at the park for the event. The winners will have a pavilion and one parking spot reserved for them beginning at 4 p.m. Entry boxes are located at: Delavan Lake Store, 2001 N. Shore Dr., South Shore Bar and Grill, W6763 S. Shore Dr., and The Village Supper Club, 1725 S. Shore Dr. The drawing will be held live on the Delavan Friends of the Park Facebook page at noon on Sunday, June 21.
“With the recent shutdown of all social activities, we think this will be a great way to bring the community back together in an outdoor setting to celebrate all the things we have to be thankful for in our town, state and country,” said Katherine Gaulke, Town Supervisor / Park & Tourism Committee Chair.
“CDC guidelines for social distancing will be distributed to all who enter the park and we trust that everyone will make safe, healthy choices for themselves and their families,” said event coordinator Becky Dreyer.
For those unable to attend the celebration in person, Right Sight Media will livestream the fireworks display on the Delavan Friends of the Park’s Facebook page.
The event is supported by Delavan Friends of the Park and Town of Delavan as well as other community sponsors, including Lake Lawn Resort, Noble Insurance and Brassworks Apartments.

Do you mean “Friends of the Phoenix Park Bandshell”? Or some other organization.
It’s a different organization than the “Friends of the Phoenix Park Bandshell” group. This event is a partnership with “Delavan Friends of the Park” and refers to Community Park located in the Town of Delavan.
