An initial appearance is scheduled for Nov. 28 for a Delavan man charged with stealing items from his ex-wife’s home in the Town of Delavan.
Jesse C. Ostrander, 37, was charged Nov. 7 in Walworth County Circuit Court with burglary of a building or dwelling.
According to the criminal complaint, Lisa Ostrander reported her North Shore Drive home burglarized Aug. 11 while she was gone camping and she and Ostrander’s son, Jesse J. Ostrander, was the only one home.
The younger Ostrander reported being awoken by a loud noise at about 3 a.m. and coming downstairs to find their 65-inch TV missing from the living room and his sister’s 42-inch TV and Xbox 360 missing, according to the complaint. The son went outside and saw a white van leaving the driveway, the complaint states.
Lisa Ostrander said her ex-husband has a white van that he keeps at his storage unit near the Emagine Theater in Lake Geneva. Police went to the storage unit and saw a black car and a white van, both registered to Ostrander, according to the complaint. They searched the rental units, and it appeared Ostrander was living in a unit, the complaint states.
Among the items missing from Lisa Ostrander’s home was a box that contained all of she and Ostrander’s children’s home movies, which Ostrander would be the only person with a motive to steal, the complaint contends.
