The Walworth County Historical Society will have its sixth annual Veterans Day program at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at Heritage Hall, 103 E. Rockwell St., Elkhorn.
The keynote speaker will be Michael Clark, a U.S. Army veteran who registered for the draft at the age of 18 and served as a medic with the 101St Airborne Division. He also served as an operating room technician with the 85th Evacuation Hospital in Phu Bai, Vietnam, from 1970 to 1971.
Clark will provide a glimpse into the emotional influences of war and detail his personal experiences. Clark is the author of “One Man’s Story: Memoirs of a Vietnam Vet.” He lives in Wisconsin with his wife, Connie, and is a physician’s assistant in emergency medicine.
The program will conclude with the introduction of all veterans and active military personnel. Special recognition of Vietnam veterans will occur with the presentation of lapel pins provided by the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Mary Chesebro Lee, Tent 23 of Delavan and the Samuel Phoenix Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, also of Delavan.
Refreshments will be served, and the Veterans Museum at the Walworth County Historical Society will be open for tours.
