A 46-year-old Janesville man died Saturday in a crash in the Town of Darien.
Ryan Andrew Phetteplace died when the 2008 Subara Impreza he was driving east on Highway 11 and 14 in the Town of Darien went into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a semi, according to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred at about 3:55 p.m. July 29 west of Highway 89.
Phetteplace was the sole occupant in his vehicle and not wearing his seatbelt, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was pronounced dead by the Walworth County medical examiner’s office at 4:35 p.m.
The semi-tractor and trailer was driven by Dennis Bennington, 55, of Coon Rapids, Minn. He was the sole occupant in the semi and was not injured, according to the sheriff’s department.
